City-owned developer PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) has recently announced that the construction of Jakarta first waste-to-energy incinerator in Sunter, North Jakarta, will commence by the end of the year, after almost four years of delays due to paperwork and funding issues.

According to Jakpro vice president for corporate secretary Syachrial Syarif, the company is currently conducting a bidding process for the project called the intermediate treatment facility (ITF) Sunter, and is aiming to announce the winner in November.
